I’ve made some mistakes in my life, the time I accidentally mistook the mint for the oregano and made mint tea chicken soup which my dear mom ate calling it “ interesting and almost soothing” the whole time .
But today, as proof that I need glasses and maybe Braille on my spices I mistook the cumin for the cinnamon. I covered my oatmeal with soy milk and berries in it. Fully doused. I’m trying to eat well and take care of myself with nutrient dense and wholesome foods. Soo I ate it. I ate the whole bowl. It was the lunch I had prepared. I had no reasonable back up plan. I do take medication so that my mind doesn’t think that inappropriate cumin use will actually poison me. But that has not kicked in yet, and the cumin flavor so fresh in my mouth has me convinced my body that a chemical reaction is occurring between the berries and the cumin and my saliva. Is there too much cumin for human consumption?

But my ancient mind, the one that chose against the poisonous bitter berries and knew to turn away from rancid meats.... that part of my brain is very very active right now. Breathing, deep breaths. Thinking of others. Using my toolbox of calm
Skills....
I have drawn the conclusion that disgusting food experiences actually toughen me up as a person, building character. And on a positive note, Once I stop feeling vomitus I will be
Adding this to my “cook book of what not to do.”
